About
The Global Teacher Project is a joint project between the Victorian Education Channel and The School Library Association of Victoria.
The project is designed to provide teachers with a weblogging space which supports research in the use of this new technology. In order to participate we request an outline of your plans and ideas about weblogging (they can change over time) and that you inform your Principal of your participation.
We will notify all bloggers of the Research Partner when selected. This research will provide you with a real opportunity to inform and influence the future directions of educational weblogging.
The research will investigate what we have created and how we are using it to influence and direct student learning.
As a part of this weblogging space, there are a number of exciting VELs based learning projects which include a Mad Hatter Challenge, a Share Bear diary, a bookclub and a blog to showcase the private worlds of individuals.
No one is compelled to participate in these projects, but they do provide a learning playground for staff and students.
At Global Student, students can safely start projects, share ideas and work collaboratively with, and alongside, students from all over the world.
In accordance with VELS objectives, it is expected that participating students will leave school with the capacity to manage themselves as individuals in relation to others, understand the world in which they live, and act effectively in that world. Staff and students will not work in isolation, but will find kindred spirits and a very real audience for their work.
